Fresh from his victory in the Italian championships, KTM S1 factory rider Bernd Hiemer rounded off a good season with a strong second place in the final Grand Prix in Greece to secure his fourth place overall in the world championships.

On a day that tested riders with wet weather and muddy conditions, Hiemer continued his confident run with two podiums, a second place in race one and a third in race two for second overall in the Grand Prix of Greece, the last event in the 2007 Supermoto World championship calendar.

It was a tough weekend's work for the Supermoto riders, Bernd reported after the race. "I had a spectacular crash in training on Saturday and although I wasn't seriously injured I had bruises and abrasions all over and head ache because I banged my head. I felt quite ok today for the races but it rained heavily overnight and there was a huge amount of mud and dirt to contend with on the track," he said.

Hiemer finished his season in the S1 class with 246 points, behind his arch rivals, Adrien Chareyre, Thierry van den Bosch and Thomas Chareyre.
