It takes a lot of courage to sit out the opening of the Supermoto season when you are the reigning world champ but that is what Red Bull KTM's top rider Bernd Hiemer had to do when he broke his left arm and right wrist in a pre-season training session.

Strong finish for KTM's Pignotti in S2 season's closer
KTM factory rider Attilio Pignotti saved the best till last on Sunday putting in his best GP finish of the season in the final round to finish second and overall fourth in the championship.Pignotti crossed the line twice in third place for his overall second result in the season's final S2 GP in Thessaloniki, Greece, his strongest finish in a season that was disrupted with injuries.

Hiemer, KTM's S1 World Champion hero in 2008
KTM S1 factory rider Bernd Hiemer of Germany got right into world championship mode in the first race of the final round of the 2008 competition on Sunday, sealing the S1 title then going on to take victory in the last GP of the season.

Andorra no fertile ground for KTM's Pignotti
Italian veteran S2 rider Attilio Pignotti had an eventful if at times painful weekend at the seventh of nine GPs on Sunday finishing sixth and fifth in the two races for overall sixth place high in the mountains of Andorra.

Hiemer fourth in Andorra; retains Red Plate as S1 championship leader
KTM's Bernd Hiemer may have missed the podium in the mountains of Andorra on Sunday but he came back strong in the second S1 race to hold onto the red number plate as championship leader.Hiemer had an event filled weekend, crashing in Saturday's training where he suffered nasty bruising and grazes.

Difficult S2 weekend for KTM's Pignotti
The S2 Grand Prix of Austria, held for the first time in Greinbach, proved to be a difficult one for KTM rider Attilio Pignotti but he did scrape together 30 points from the motos to finish overall seventh.The weekend started badly for Pignotti and the other riders already on Saturday when torrential rain cut short practice and left the Italian only fourteenth fastest ahead of Sunday's S2 races.

Troy Herfoss Earns 3rd at Round 1 Supermoto
HMC KTM's Troy Herfoss picked up the final podium position in the Supermoto Premier class at the first round of the AMA Supermoto Series with his teammate Chris Fillmore only one spot back.Herfoss started the day off well when he earned 2nd place in his heat which gave him a great starting spot for the main event.

Third place for Pignotti in opening Supermoto 2 Grand Prix in Turin
Italian Attilio Pignotti launched his challenge in the 2008 Supermoto 2 class in style at the Grand Prix of Italy in Turin on Sunday piloting his KTM to third overall in the season's opening race.The Italian was third and fourth for his podium place picking up a handy 38 points behind Davide Gozzini (Italy) and Adrien Chareyre (France) in first and second but with equal championship points.

Torino: Hiemer snatches second in opening SM1 Grand Prix
KTM factory rider Bernd Hiemer started the Supermoto S1 season in style on Sunday with a 1-2 victory in the two races for overall second place in the opening Grand Prix of Italy to share top points with leader Thierry van den Bosch of France.

Attilio Pignotti second in Supermoto S2 Class in 2007
KTM rider Attilio Pignotti wrapped a highly successful season in the S2 class of Supermoto when he finished with a 4-2 in the final two races at Megara, Greece for overall GP second. The result secured him second place in the S2 class world championship rankings for 2007.
