During Friday and Saturday free practice and qualifying test in Misano Adriatico World Circuit, both team Pedercini’s riders Javier Fores and Ismael Ortega were not able to find the right set up for their Kawasaki in order to race in the better condition in the fourth Superstock 1000 FIM Cup race of the season. During the practice Fores and Ortega didn’t worked with their team in the proper way because of the changeable weather conditions. They reached respectively the third and fifth row in the race starting grid.
Superstock 1000 race started in the morning on a wet circuit but during the first moments of the race an unfortunate accident occurred between Colucci and Tutusaus and for this reason the race was red flagged. The race direction decided to move the race in the afternoon and the second part of the race started on a dry track. After a quick start Fores remained in the front group of riders but in middle of the race he was forced to reduce his race pace due to some set up problems. Fores ended in seventh place reaching some important points for his championship standing. He’s now in fourth place at only 29 points from the leader Simeon. A difficult race for Ortega. He started from the fifth row and he recovered a lot of positions. Unfortunately during the last lap, when he was in fifteenth position, he crashed ending his race in the gravel. Now Pedercini team is moving to Donington for the fifth race of the season.
Ismael Ortega : “I’m really disappointed for my today crash during my last race lap. I was able to reach the fifteenth place with a very good pace set up also if my bike’s set up was not good. We suffered also today for some problems to my front wheel and it was very difficult for me to ride in this conditions. This weekend we found a lot of problems that we were not able to solve because of the bad weather conditions, but in Donington I will try my best to reach a good result for me and for my team”.
Javier Fores : “It was a difficult race today. I hoped to race on a wet truck because my bike set up was not ready for a dry race. Unfortunately the first wet race was red flagged and we started only in the afternoon on a dry track. After a very good start I remained in the front group of riders for four or five laps but then I realize that it was impossible for me to follow the fastest riders and I prefer to avoid any risk to end my race in seventh place. I reached some important points for my championship standing and now I’m in fourth position at only 29 points from the leader Simeon”.
