In Miller Motorsport’s Superbike races Team Pedercini did not reach the same good results obtained during Friday and Saturday qualifying practices. The team worked hard on the last minute adjustments of the Kawasaki ZX 10 R bikes during the morning warm up, in order to be ready for the races. Scassa lined up on the fourth row of the grid while Salom started from the fifth. Race one was red flagged after few laps when Muggeridge crashed and his bike remained on the track. Scassa and Salom ended the new race respectively in nineteenth and twentieth position of the aggregate standing. In race two after a quick start Scassa reached the thirteenth place but Hacking hit the bike of the Italian rider and Luca crashed and broke the fourth metatarsus of his left foot. With a good race pace Salom obtained the eighteenth position.
Luca Scassa : “In race one my bike suffered some problems at the gear box but I pusher very hard and I was able to reach the nineteenth place. In the second race I was forced to use my second bike but it worked very well and I was fighting for the thirteenth position. Unfortunately Hacking run into my bike and I crashed at high speed. I’m experiencing a lot of pain now, but hopefully tonight I’ll be able to rest and feel better tomorrow. In any case I’ll participate to Misano next races. The feeling with the bike was very good and I’m disappointed for my team, as I know that I could reached some good points today. I’m really satisfied with my bike and now we have a good base to work on. I want to thank all my technicians because they have done really great job and that’s the reason why I’m optimistic for future races”.
David Salom : “Starting from the fifth row always makes life difficult, but after the first few opening laps I found it extremely difficult to keep up with the group in front of me due to some set up problems on my bike. I’m not happy having finished in twentieth and eighteenth position, but this was a completely new circuit for me and it was difficult for me to adapt my riding style to this technical and difficult track. I’m sure I’ll be able to improve my performances starting from Misano next races.”
