Second day of three-day test session for Honda Althea Team at the Autodromo Internacional do Algarve in Portugal. On the second day, all our riders continued progressing very strongly. They used the time to develop both their relationships with their new team and also to continue the development of their Honda race bikes.

This morning the track was still wet in many places but in the afternoon the track conditions dried almost completely. In Superbike Tommy Hill ended his last session in twenty third place (1,45,679), in Supersport Lagrive was twelfth (1,46,561) while Aitchison reached the fifteenth position (1,46,911).

Mark Aitchison – Supersport : “Immediately in the morning we found a good setting with the bike and in the afternoon session we did not change too much on the bike set-up. We preferred to try to understand which tyres would be best for the bike, but once we started to push a little bit more we realized that to improve my best lap time we needed to make some big changes. We still have a lot of work to do, but we are going in the right direction and tomorrow I’ll continue to work hard with my team because I want to improve my lap time but also to find a consistent pace”.

Matthieu Lagrive – Supersport : “I’m happy with the bike, the team and the progress we’re making. I’m feeling more comfortable with the bike every time I enter the track and that’s very important. We fixed a lot of small but important things and it helped me to gain confidence. I did not push hard today because I worked on the set-up quite a bit. Tomorrow I would like to continue in this direction.”

Tommy Hill – Superbike : “Today we tried many different set-up solutions and finally we found the problem on the rear of the bike. The problem got worse as the tires wore down and it was the same problem that we had yesterday and this morning also. We are now checking and analyzing the data to make some improvements and tomorrow I hope to be able to improve my pace and my lap time. Today I went one second faster than yesterday but with the right settings I’m sure I can reach a good position in tomorrow test. We still have a lot of work to do tomorrow and we’ll try our best because the championship is so close and we want to be ready for the first races”.
