Second and last day of test for Hannspree Honda Althea team on the circuit of Vallelunga, Italy. Sunny but cold day, with a strong wind that disturbed the riders, and an asphalt temperature of 14-15 degrees only.
Gianluca Nannelli – Supersport : “It was an important day of test. Thanks to the great job of my mechanics I was able to make all the tests that I wanted.
I started with the same satisfactory setting I finished yesterday and I was able to carried out two long runs. In spite of the cold and windy weather I have gone for 70 laps, maintaining my race time between 1.40.6 and 1.41.2. That’s a great result !
The bike is very consistent and I can ride it as I like also whit worn-out tires. Today the main improvement has come from the performance of the bike when you have already made quite a few laps. It’s very important thinking to Losail first race.
We are indeed ready for being protagonists starting from the first race in Qatar.
Roberto Rolfo – Superbike : “ It’s gone very well. We spent the days testing new parts and the results are good . We are leaving Vallelunga feeling optimistic. We had to work hard for two days to find the best suspension settings and making significant gains in terms of the machine’s overall performance. We are still seeking points to improve and we are determined to continue the improvements on the new bike.
The cold and windy weather and the asphalt temperature did not help us today and I cannot ride for a long run but we have made an important job in forecast of the first races of the season. I am optimistic because above all I can count on a great team.
Salvatore Giorlandino – Team Manager : Having participated in two successful tests day here in Vallelunga, our team is already in a high state of readiness to meet the challenge of the two forthcoming World Superbike and Supersport Championship.
Our mechanics have worked very hard in these two days but now we are happy for the results obtained. We know there is still something to do on the new CBR 1000 RR while Nannelli and his bike are really ready for Qatar race.
