The second season of the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup is underway and Spaniard Luis Salom leads American JD Beach by just 3 points in the early stages of this year's Cup chase. Time then for those inspired by the tales of international adventure, high speed action and daring to sign up for the 2009 Cup.

Applications are now open to all junior racing enthusiasts born between January 1st 1992 and December 31st 1995.

All the information on the online application process is there as are details of the next stages of the Selection process including the Initial Selection Events to be held at:

Adria Raceway, Italy: September 1st & 2nd 2008
Adria Raceway, Italy: September 3rd & 4th 2008

The best riders of the Initial Selection Events will qualify for the Final Selection, which will take place at the Circuito do Estoril, Portugal on November 7th & 8th 2008.

Shortly after the Final Selection, the riders for the 2009 Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup will be announced.
