Jeremy Van Horebeek joins Kawasaki

Team CLS Kawasaki is pleased to confirm that they have reached an agreement this weekend with young promising Belgian rider Jeremy Van Horebeek

After the confirmation of Steven Frossard for 2010, team CLS has finalised his lineup with Jeremy Van Horebeek who will race the next two seasons with the squad in the MX2 world championship. Jeremy entered the MX2 series three years ago and confirmed his potential with eighth position overall in the 2008 campaign. Winner of this year’s Catalan Grand Prix, Van Horebeek (who will turn twenty in November) has since experienced misfortune but proved his speed on a number of occasions with top five results.

Jeremy is a double MX2 Belgian champion, and has twice represented his country at the Motocross of Nations; earning podium results. Aside from Grand Prix duties Van Horebeek will appear in the Elite French Championship and selected Belgian events in 2010.

Jeremy Van Horebeek: “It’ really nice to sign with Kawasaki and CLS, and I’m looking forward to next season as I have not been so lucky this year. It’s a new challenge for me and it’s really nice to see that people have confidence in you despite an average year. To be in a factory team with all the technical support from the Japan is great, and I’ve already a good connection with the CLS representatives. I’m really happy and I’m sure that next year we’ll reach the results that we want. We speak together about our goals and although we don’t want to put any undue pressure I’ll go for a top five position in the series. I have known Steven Frossard since we raced in the French 80cc championship; I’m sure we’ll have good relationship and work together for the best.”

Steve Guttridge (Kawasaki European Race Planning Manager): ‘I’m very happy to see Jeremy joining us, he is a good young rider with great potential who will fit with the team very well and we hope to see him grow with us. CLS with be our official MX2 team next season, we want them to concentrate on this class so we can work closely on the development of the bikes; Steven and Jeremy will be our official runners for 2010.’

Jean Jacques Luisetti (CLS Team Owner): ‘I’m happy and proud to sign Jeremy, who is one of the fastest young prospects in the series. He will be a perfect team-mate for Steven, who will improve his riding on sandy tracks alongside him. Jeremy is only nineteen at the moment and already won a Grand Prix, and he represents the future for CLS with a two year contract; we all know that Steven will be forced to move in the MX1 class in 2011 and our team is now concentrated on the MX2 class as asked by Kawasaki. We’ll start working with Jeremy for next season and our common goal is a top five result. Until now we were predominantly a French team, now we go international following the request of Kawasaki Heavy Industry and we’ll continue to work with our partners to finalize our technical staff.’
