The Erzbergrodeo paddock will certainly take proper interest in this news from Mattinghofen: until now we don't know if the winner of the previous years, David Knight (UK) will show up at the start of the Erzbergrodeo 2007. Knight, who showcases his exceptional talent at the American GNCC-series during the 2007 season, secured victory in both in the 2-cylinder kings class on board the new KTM 950 Super Enduro R and the Red Bull Hare Scramble last year. The issue , who will take over from Knight and win the notorious Red Bull Hare Scramble, will certainly steer the conversation in the groups of regulars of the international Enduroscene. KTM is providing a whole armada of famous champions to start at the Erzbergrodeo 2007 and apart from international topstars and Erzbergrodeo regulars like Cyril Despres (F), Giovanni Sala (I) or Darryl Curtis (RSA), the Finnish KTM superstar Juha Salminen will return to Europe and to the Erzberg after two extremely successful seasons racing the GNCC series in the USA. Salminen will be joined by his fellow KTM-teammate and reigning E2 Enduro World Champion Samuli Aro from Finland, who will make his first appearance at the "Iron Giant" in the heart of Austria. Amongst all the international top stars there is also an Austrian rider to be named as one of the main favourites: four time European Enduro Champion Werner Müller has already secured a handful of top-ten finishes at the notorious Erzbergrodeo during the last years, but is still lacking a victory at the Red Bull Hare Scramble. Müller also plans to pilote the 2-cylinder KTM 950 Super Enduro in the Prologue races at Erzberg 2007, so the Austrian fans can be sure to see their local favourite at insane speeds. |
