Plans for BMW Motorrad’s New Season Launch, taking place at dealerships throughout the UK on Saturday 10 March*, were finalised today after the iconic motorcycle brand announced the unveiling of the new K 1200 R Sport.

It will be the much-anticipated first appearance in dealer showrooms of the latest addition to BMW’s most powerful range of bikes, the K Series.

The K 1200 R Sport is the fourth variant in the popular K Series and is based on the radically-styled 163 hp K 1200 R naked roadster, offering a combination of riding qualities and sportiness that are evident through its impressive suspension and running gear.

Motorcycle News Senior Road Tester, Michael Neeves, called the new bike a ‘revelation’ in a recent road test, adding ‘the Sport is a big surprise. It mixes practicality and usability with genuine fun and excitement’.

The bike’s new half-fairing is particularly striking. Integrated into the overall design, it emphasises the sporting character of the bike, while the front fairing offers significantly improved wind and weather protection from its sister model, the K 1200 R, without compromising on its enviable good looks.
