Marc Marquez wrapped up a troubled weekend at the Brno racing circuit in the Czech Republic on Sunday when he made a charge from row five on the grid in the 125 cc GP to cross the line in eighth place and pick up eight championship points. Marquez found himself back at twentieth place on the grid after difficult qualifying sessions on Saturday at the wide, spectacular Czech circuit that is set in undulating hills that create natural amphitheatres for the thousands of spectators. But the 16-year-old Red Bull KTM Moto Sport factory rider again illustrated his potential by charging through the pack to eleventh place in the very first lap. The young Spaniard hung onto the tail of the second group of 13 riders throughout the race and in the final stages slipped up the order to finish eighth. It was a valiant effort after crashes denied the team time during qualifying to make adjustments to the settings, an important factor on the sweeping Brno circuit. Marc Marquez: "Today's result is not too bad because yesterday we had a very difficult day that didn't give us time to try any settings. I tried out a new setting in the warm-up but that was not so good and we had to change it again for the race. That meant I didn't have a real feeling for the front of my bike right throughout the race. It was important to stay with the second group, which was fighting for the 5-12 places and managed to finish eighth. Of course I'm not so happy about the result but it was still important to finish the race after the difficulties we had this weekend. Looking forward to Indianapolis I hope we can make a good result again because I had a very good feeling for my bike there in 2008. I think Indianapolis Race Way suites my KTM because it has narrow corners and a straight that's not as long as here in Brno. For sure I'm looking forward to going to Indy in two weeks." Red Bull KTM Technical Director Harald Bartol: "Marc did everything possible today and especially after a weekend like this. Therefore I'm happy with his result." Regrettably the weekend was already over on Saturday for the team's second rider, American Cameron Beaubier who sustained a shoulder injury that prevented him from starting in Sunday's race. Doctors have told him however that he should be fit enough to ride in his home race at Indianapolis, the next stop on the MotoGP calendar. Results Round 10 1.
