Left ankle injury for Randy de Puniet

After the last Bristish GP at Donington Park race track which saw Randy de Puniet obtaining a stunning third place behind Andrea Dovizioso and Colin Edwards, the MotoGP teams and riders take a 2-week summer break before the Czech Republic GP on the 16th of August.

Following on his training programme De Puniet had a motocross training session last Saturday afternoon with his personal trainer Yves Demaria (former Motocross rider) in Aix en Provence.

Unfortunately the 28-year-old Frenchman had a fall entering a turn hiting his left leg badly. Randy was taken to the Hospital and the x-rays showed the fracture of the left ankle. After a quick surgery to insert a screw into his ankle De Puniet left hospital today and will meet the Clinica Mobile staff in the next days to fix his recovering and hopefully will be racing in Brno.

De Puniet: “Yves and I planned a specifc traning programme to improve my performance on track this year. This programme helped me a lot so far and, though the summer break, I could not stop training for 2 weeks time. That’s why we went out to make a short motocross training. Unfortunately I had a fall and the impact on the ground caused me the fracture of the left ankle. I am very disappointed for this inconvenience but traning is very important for me to be well fitted on track. Will do my best to race in Brno and I am sure that the Clinica Mobile staff will support me in the best way”.
