GP Donington, report Scot Racing Team

Cloudy sky, but a very bright day for the Scot Raicing Team. In extremely tricky condition, Hiroshi Aoyama won a perfect race, strengthening his leadership in the 250cc championship.  In MotoGP Gabor Talmacsi got an excellent 12th place and points for the second race in a row, in a day in which a bad strategy was so easy to take, and a mistake was possible at any corner.

Gabor Talmacsi (MotoGP, 12th): "I'm really happy. I'm happy because of the race, ad for the result we got. And for having been able to choose the best strategy. At the beginning, I was not sure about what tyre ask for: the weather was changing second by second. We decided for the slick, and that was the right choice. A key point, in the race, was when to decide to stay out,and not to come in to change bikes, in spite of the increasing rain. I calculated that it was not convenient, and decided to continue. And this too was a good move".

Hiroshi Aoyama (250cc, 1st): "From mid race on, the tyres were totally destroyed. So, I had to keep an eye on my advantage over the rider behind me, and controll it. And  the victory came.  I had a good start, and was able to build up a good advantage in the first laps. When I saw that I had six seconds over the second, I understood that changing tyres was not an option".

Raffaele De Rosa (250cc, 7th): "A strange race. Probably, the winning choice was to use the slicks since the beginning, but nobody dared it  all riders preferred a more conservative action. At a point, from the pit wall my crew show me the sign "box", to let me know that they were ready to change my tyres, if I wanted. But I preferred to stay with my group. At the beginning all OK. Then, I began to experience problems with the gear box. At the end, the bike was sliding a lot, and it was fun. But I'm a little bit disappointed - it was a good race, but it could be much better".

Alberto Martinelli (Sporting Director): " A great day, I would say. We got a perfect victory with Hiroshi in a very exciting 250 race. De Rosa did more than expected, having had a problem. We are very glad about the strategy adopted in MotoGP, which was the best one. All the team is in an excellent mood. This day is an important boost to us".

Emanuele Ventura (Technical Director): "Happiness. Hiro won a race in very difficult conditions. And Raffaele was able not only to deliver a good race, but also to take points away from Barbera, who is a contender of Aoyama for the Championship. Gabor did an excellent race. We still want to improve in dry conditions, but we are  on the right way".
