GP of Spain, Gabor Talmacsi finishes seventh in Jerez

The 250cc race in Jerez was a stormer, held under great weather conditions and in front of the typical enthusiastic fans. More than 123,000 spectators saw Bautista, Aoyama and Simoncelli battle for Glory, in a race that saw many overtaking moves and a last lap victory. Aoyama eventually took the win.

Balatonring rider Gábor Talmácsi had suffered from a major grip problem during the entire weekend, but some changes in the morning warmup on Sunday enabled him to push on during the race. His fastest lap -a 1'44.135, came on a Comeback through the field after starting badly, and he kept working before arriving at the line in seventh. He continues to be the best rookie in the category this year, andi s looping forward to the next round at Le Mans, France.

7th Gábor Talmácsi: "We had a lot to get our heads around this weekend, with the rear grip. We made a lot of changes but were unable to gain confidence, which we needed. We made a lot of changes in the warmup and found some Solutions that helped in the race, but I started pretty badly and had to regain places. It was fun, and got me feeling better on my Aprilia. At the end I was able to pass Locatelli, and took seventh at the flag. I took points, and kept up the learning process in the class. I'm happy with that, and want to continue at this good level."
