Hopkins gets married while West recovers

Congratulations to Kawasaki's John Hopkins who married fiancée Ashleigh this weekend, in a ceremony held at the Hard Rock hotel in Las Vegas.

The 24 year old Anglo-American and his new English bride will be jetting off to French Polynesia for a short honeymoon, before Hopkins heads for Sepang in mid-January for the first of Kawasaki's 2008 pre-season tests.

While his team-mate was tying the knot in Las Vegas, Anthony West was busy recovering from a successful operation on his left wrist in Ingolstadt, Germany. The 26 year old had four screws and a metal plate removed, a memento of his 2002 crash at Phillip Island's notorious turn one, followed by ten days of intense physiotherapy to regain full movement in the joint.

Now well on his way to recovery, West has returned home to Australia's Gold Coast for Christmas, but will continue training throughout the winter break to ensure he regains full fitness ahead of January's hectic pre-season test schedule.
