Knight needed to finish 12th or higher to clench the top spot for the series. He had a good start and worked his way to the front of the pack and eventually took the lead. From there Knight never looked back.
"It's great to have finally wrapped up the championship. It's been one hell of a strange season but despite it taking a little longer than I hoped I've acheived what I set out to do, which of course was to win the GNCC championship. I have to say a huge thanks to all of the KTM team, but especially to Timo who was my mechanic for the last four races" said Knight.
Teammate Justin Williamson rode smart and consistent all day competing in the XC2 class. Williamson who had already secured his championship before the last round was still in podium mode. Williamson took third place for the day.
"Both David and Justin rode very well today. David ended the season on top and just finished well. Going into the season our ultimate goal was to win both classes. After the rollercoaster season for both David and Justin with early season injuries and technical problems the whole team is more than excited to celebrate these well earned championships" said Off Road Team Manager Antti Kallonen.
