Aprilia 2007 World Constructors' Champion 250cc
Aprilia was the protagonist of an extraordinay week-end at the Japanese GP. This world title, the seventh in the 250cc class after the years 95 -98 -99 -02 -03 -06, couples with the 2007 World Constructors Championship in the 125cc, conquerd in Misano at the San Marino GP. The number of Speed World titles now add up to 29 (14 Constructors and 15 Riders) right in the occasion of the twentieth anniversary of Aprilias first victory by Loris Reggiani at the San Marino GP of 1987. The 2007 Constructorss titles in the 250cc and 125cc classes consolidate Aprilias leadership as the brand conquering more titles among the Motorcycling constructors. Such success also shows that Aprilia dominates the two stroke classes that in 2006 obtained the Riders and the Constructors titles both in the 125cc and in the 250cc. Leo Francesco Mercanti, Director of the Aprilia brand, commented todays victory: It is always a great emotion to win a title placing us on top of the world list. It is a prize for the excepional work made by a great team of the technicians and by a highly competent company showing unparalleled passion for its work. Such values allowed the young Aprilia brand to become a myth in Motorcycling within the span of just twenty years. I would like to thank the riders, the team, the sponsors who participated in Aprilia's amazing rise to success. We now need to focus on the objectives we set ourselves at the start of the season. Giampiero Sacchi, Director of Gruppo Piaggio, stated: This titles represent another great satisfaction for Aprilias professional work and the right crowing achievement after the 125 World title gained in Misano, five races in advance.
