Steve Ramon clinches Belgian title
Team Suzuki's Steve Ramon recaptured his Belgian Motocross title by finishing second overall at Orp-le-Grand and confirmed 2007 as an unforgettable year as the new MX1 World Champion added yet another distinction to his crowded record of achievement. The 27 year old guided the world-title-winning RM-Z450 to second, first and third in the three motos in the penultimate round of the Flemish series to confirm his third crown in the competition and successful defence of his 2006 title. "To take the world championship and the Belgian title in the same week means that, of course, I am happy," he said. "It has been a long and hard season and I did not train much this week as we were busy celebrating! We still have some work to do as the Motocross of Nations takes place in two weeks and I want to do my best there for Belgium and Suzuki." Ramon will be part of the three man team travelling to Budds Creek for the 61st Motocross of Nations on September 23rd. Kevin Strijbos, who missed the meeting due to further surgery on his knee, took third overall in the Belgian domestic competition. |
