Toni Bou ­ Repsol Montesa HRC took another win at this weekend¹s Grand Prix of Poland, to stretch his advantage in the 2007 championship by a further three points, to a healthy 20-point margin. Second today was again Adam Raga ­ Gas Gas with Albert Cabestany ­ Sherco Tarragona third.

Bou's team-mate Takahisa Fujinami ­ Repsol Montesa HRC finished the event in fourth after confusion over the amount of time left for one lap caused him to pick up two marks while Dougie Lampkin ­ Repsol Montesa HRC finished the event fifth. The final result did not reflect the effort put in by the three Repsol liveried riders however, the trio were holding the top three positions after the first lap.

The sixth round of the championship took place in the town of Myslenice, to the south of Krakow. Like much of Europe, the area had suffered heavy rain in the run-up to the event and the ground was very soft and in places, slippery. However, the morning of the trial dawned clear of rain and the riders and spectators were rewarded with pleasant temperatures and a cooling breeze, as the action took place in a series of sections through riverbeds under heavy tree cover. Only the final, man-made spectator section ran in bright sunshine.

Despite the temperatures, Bou maintained his cool from the outset, completing the first lap having racked up just twelve marks. Only two marks behind at the mid-point was team-mate Lampkin who admitted to feeling his day started very well. Third after the first lap was Fujinami, who was also settling well into the event, which featured sections almost identical to the previous year's event.

However, things would change for the second lap. Bou maintained his composure and recorded just five marks second time around, against his closest rival¹s eleven. This performance once again ensured he would emerge victorious, a full eleven marks clear. Lampkin also started his second lap well but picked up two fives which dropped him down the order, to finally finish the event in fifth. Fujinami was enjoying a good second lap, but like many riders, found time beginning to run out. A rare mistake led to him receiving the wrong information about the remaining time and after being told he had more than was the case, he picked up two marks for time penalties. This dropped him to fourth, just a single point behind Cabestany in third and one place ahead of Lampkin.

Bou -  1st : "I am very happy to win here today, as it makes the championship a little easier with more of a lead. I was a little nervous approaching this event, as I had a bad result here last year, so my confidence was not very high. I did a lot of testing in wet conditions over the winter and I think that really helped me today, Almost every section was into and climbing out of a river or stream and it was definitely a benefit. I think the sections here were not particularly difficult; there were one or two tricky parts but overall, not too bad. However, it was very easy to make mistakes here. Of course, I would have liked my team-mates to have held the same positions at the end as after the first lap ­ it would have been a perfect result for the team, which has worked so hard."

Fujinami ­ 4th : "I like this trial, especially as I won here last year. I had quite a good run today. I didn't make too many mistakes on my first lap and my second was also not too bad, just one five on section nine. What caused me problems was a big mistake with the time. It was tight for all the riders, as these sections are quite easy to either clean or five. To make sure you clean them, it¹s necessary to spend a lot of time studying the conditions and the lines. When I got to section thirteen, I was told by two mechanics I had twenty minutes left and one said five. It seems five minutes was right. I pushed for the rest of the lap but was two minutes late, which cost two marks and, as a result, third. But we won¹t make this mistake again."

Lampkin ­ 5th : "My day started well and I felt comfortable riding. I had an unlucky five on section thirteen when a rock got caught underneath my footrest and tipped me over ­ that was very unlucky. The second lap also started well, but then I five'd sections four and five. Section four was quite difficult, but five was easy and I shouldn't have picked up those marks there. I then stalled the engine on sections nine and ten and picked up eight more marks there, which was incredibly frustrating. It was quite tricky in places today, as being even slightly off-line could wreck a good ride."

Ladies World champion Laia Sanz ­ Repsol Montesa HRC enjoyed a better event than the previous weekend, finishing the day tenth in the Junior category. "My day began well, but I either cleaned sections or five'd them. There were no small mistakes here today, only big ones. I also had a big crash in section nine and had to return to the truck to repair the bike. But overall, I feel my riding was good. I cleaned every section either on the first or the second lap; I just need to make sure I do it on both in future."
