European MX2 championship: Gregory takes win for relentless Suzuki
Team Relentless Suzuki rider Lewis Gregory, took his first European win at the weekend, as the European MX2 championship went to Tomelilla in Sweden for round four of the series.

Following a difficult start to the Swedish round for team, with Jamie Law suffering a heavy crash in practice, Lewis went into the first race of the day in confident form, gating inside the top-ten and quickly moving through the pack. After sitting comfortably in third place at half race distance, Lewis began to make a move on his RM-Z250, passing Gautier Paulin in the final stages to take the race win.

Overjoyed with his performance in race one, Lewis was set to repeat his form in the second moto of the day, before a lightweight bolt on his sub-frame failed and saw him eventually retire from the race.

“Overall I’m really happy”, commented Lewis. “To score a win in such competitive company is a real boost for my confidence. I knew we could run towards the front, but everything just clicked today, and without that technical failure I’m confident we could of done the double”.

Team-mate Alex Snow consistently upped his pace through the weekend, moving from 17th in race one to 12th in race two.

Relentless Suzuki Team Manager Rob Hooper commented, “What a day. I had a lump in my throat in both races but for very different reasons. It was fantastic to see Lewis finally achieve that European win, and I just know this is the start of more to come. The second race however, was a real blow for us all. It was all down to a tiny part we use to help lighten the bike, but this time it clearly backfired on us. However, overall we can only be pleased to be on the top step of the podium”.
